The activities are organised by members of the following CSCDO convened networks.

For events and activities information on these networks please contact the Children’s Services community Development Officer for details.

Bankstown Children’s Services Forum (BCSF)

The Bankstown Children’s Services Forum was established in 1990 originally as the first local child and family network in the Bankstown LGA. Today it operates to support a number of networks, which have formed to focus on specific issues relating to children ages 0-14 years and their families. These include the Bankstown Child Protection Interest Group, the Bankstown Early Childhood Intervention Committee and the Authorised Supervisors Link Up (Child Care Sector).

BCSF provides a common platform for all sectors to engage in community development activities that address child & family related issues in a holistic way. Community development initiatives employed by the forum include research and promotion of evidence based models of practice through mini seminar days, workshops and conferences. The forum provides an annual platform to coincide with the Children’s Week, which is a national event that allows an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of children’s skills, abilities, interests and talents and to reinforce their rights to fundamental services that support their health and wellbeing.

One of the most important functions of the BCSF is to ensure the lines of communication between sectors are open and working collaboratively. With this in mind, it has an established relationship with Families NSW – Bankstown Interagency Group & Bankstown Council to address gaps and issues identified via its networks.

Service providers in the Bankstown Local Government Area are welcome to join any of the BCSF networks. Please contact the Children’s Services Community Development Officer for details.
