What is an Occupational Therapist
An Occupational Therapist is a trained professional who can support children to have successful and satisfying experiences in their daily activities, including:

Child care or pre-school activities for e.g. playing, drawing, group activities

Self-care routines e.g. dressing, feeding, toileting
-
Movement activities e.g. walking, climbing, ball skills, using play equipment
Occupational Therapy at BCRG
The Occupational Therapy service at BCRG is funded by ClubsNSW. The Occupational Therapist provides relationship based therapy with the BCRG Speech Pathologist in a group called Communication Sense-ation.
NB. We also offer private Occupational Therapy services through the BCRG Kids Clinic.
The Communication Sensation Group:
Description:
- A 10-week group program for children with autism and/or developmental delays and their families.
- An Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist will work with you to set goals and priorities for your child and family
- The therapists will use relationship based approaches to enhance your child’s communication, attention, independence, and social interaction
Some general group goals may include:

Develop attention and listening in small groups
-
Develop understanding and talking
-
Increase participation in daily routines e.g. mealtimes, toileting
-
Create safe play environments for the child to develop new skills
-
Develop positive interactions between your child and siblings

Recreation Sports and Aquatics Club (RSAC)

(Opposite the Bankstown Sports Club, parking available)
