Services Provided

The primary objective of the community development project is to research and identify the needs of the local community and develop programs and services to address these needs.

This objective is achieved through;

  • Engaging in community development activities and projects in collaboration with other services to address community needs
  • Conducting research through community consultation, literature reviews and other sources of data to inform the provision of current services and the development of new projects to address identified community needs.
  • Resourcing and supporting other community based organisations within the Bankstown LGA- particularly neighbourhood centres
  • Engaging in advocacy and lobbying activities that promote the community's needs, interests and aspirations

The CDO project strives to sustain and build on community service networks and partnerships to promote best practice and delivery of services. The CDO project is engaged with the following organisations and interagency groups through resources, support and information exchange:

  • Greenacre Area Neighbourhood Centre
  • Bankstown Community Drug Action Team
  • Bankstown Interagency Group
