About

who we are

Bankstown Community Resource Group Inc (BCRG) is a not-for-profit charity registered community organisation based in Bankstown. The organisation was established in 1984 with the aim of increasing funding for welfare services and providing improved planning, co-ordination and effectiveness in the delivery of services to the Bankstown community.

Today BCRG provides a range of direct services, information, training and referral across the Bankstown Local Government Area aimed at children and families with a diversity of needs and from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

We develop and implement practical capacity building programs which seek to empower families through early intervention support and community development.

Our goal is to support children, young people and their families and the wider community to enhance their independence, safety, self-esteem and quality of life within the community and, to build strong communities by undertaking community development activities so that communities are better informed, resourced and connected resulting in stronger families and communities with increased social capital and resilience.

It is also our goal to build and sustain the capacity of the BCRG and the community services sector through collaborative and sustainable partnerships as well as to deliver responsive services through sector development, evidence based research, policy and advocacy.
